Student Film Equipment Cage Manager

The University of Mississippi’s Dept. of Theatre & Film

Responsibilities include assisting in the establishment of a film equipment cage, building, maintaining, and operating camera equipment, lighting equipment, dollies, sound equipment; creating and expanding an inventory/database of equipment and qualified students, and filing forms for equipment use. Duties also include training and supervising other cage workers, as well as training students on how to use equipment.

Rockwell Visual creates corporate videos for Fortune 500 companies, such as FedEx. Key Grip & Gaffer duties included management of camera equipment, dollies, lighting, as well as audio and scene preparation for video production.

Personal

I'm a filmmaker who wears a fedora. That's me. In fact, I always wear a hat. Hence, the nickname "Matt in the Hat."

I have a wickedly dry sense of humor. That's just me being modest though - I'm downright hysterical.

In my spare time, I enjoy kayaking and fencing. And, considering my career choice, I'm obviously a film buff.

That's pretty much all I've got. I'm far more interesting in person, I swear!
